How to free yourself from the poles
If you polarize, you lose.
Humans have a very dangerous self-destructive habit: We polarize everything.
We polarize everything because it's easier and more comfortable to live in a world where there are only two options instead of thousands.
That's why we force everything to be either black or white.
We polarize everything because we don't like the uncertainty, doubt, risk, and lack of control that comes with the gray zone.
That's why we classify, judge, and evaluate everything and everyone based solely on whether they "are" or "are not."
And thus your mind takes you, between one pole and another, determining if someone or something is:
▶ Good or bad
▶ Rich or poor
▶ Success or failure
▶ Happy or depressed
▶ Honest or dishonest
▶ Lazy or productive
And thus you go, between one pole and another, missing out on the entirety of life that happens right in between the poles.
👉 When I realized this, I forced myself to see gray, to be gray, and to live gray.
Today, I embrace life as it is:
💥 Fluid, not binary
💥 Process, not outcome
💥 Chaos, not order
💥 Questions, not answers
💥 Contradictions, not definitions
Making this decision has allowed me to see, be, and live more deeply, and it has freed me from my judgments, giving me the opportunity to be much more flexible and accepting with myself and everything else.
Free yourself from the poles.
