The most important question to ask yourself
This is the most important question I ask myself every day:
"What for?"
When was the last time you asked yourself "what for?"
Chances are you don't remember.
Undoubtedly, you ask yourself "why?" every day...but that question is very different and leads you to a very different destination.
"Why" is rational.
"What for" is existential.
I realized that I almost always knew why I did what I did, but I rarely knew for what purpose I did what I did.
I had a clear understanding of why that business, trip, person, experience, or situation was justified rationally. But I didn't have a clear understanding of how they were justified existentially.
😐 I realized I was living my life and making decisions blindly, on autopilot, and out of inertia because I was only seeking to maximize my comprehension.
💥 "What for" set me free.
✅ Now I live my life and make decisions with an open heart, on the right track, and with consciousness because I am seeking to maximize my meaning.
✅ Now I ask myself "what for" always and all the time.
✅ Now I not only solve my life externally with the "why," I also solve my life internally with the "what for."
There is no question more liberating, empowering, and transformative than "what for" - give it to yourself as a gift.
