This is how you win
If you want to win, focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses.
The majority of us do the opposite because we fear our weaknesses and take our strengths for granted.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to improve, but there is an opportunity cost. Every second you dedicate to improving, you're taking away from perfecting.
👉 Excellence doesn't come from being good at many things, it comes from being extraordinary at a few.
Winning NFL teams understand this perfectly:
They recruit players, create plays, and design their entire offense around the strengths of their quarterback. They prefer to perfect their areas of excellence rather than optimize their areas of improvement.
Winning startups understand this perfectly:
They recruit collaborators, create strategies, and design their entire sales approach around the strengths of their product. They prefer to build customer loyalty by making existing customers fall even more in love with their product rather than trying to convince non existing customers into becoming customers.
The moment you accept that you can live with your weaknesses, you free yourself to start maximizing your strengths.
💥 In the long run, you'll be better off if you commit to turning your strengths into excellence rather than turning your weaknesses into competencies.
